Iowa Governor Culver will be visiting Des Moines, Ottumwa, Keokuk, Burlington, and Columbus Junction today. They will have a press conference at some time to update. His schedule is available here.
The Iowa River is receding today but the Mississippi River has yet to crest. More details to come after the governor’s press conference.
“The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers warns that water levels on the already record-high Iowa River will go up another 4.5 to 5 feet by Monday night.
The current water level of the Coralville Reservoir is 715.9 feet above sea level, 3.9 feet over the spillway. The reservoir is expected to peak at 717.7 at midnight Monday night.”
