They are now saying we will crest within 5 inches of the ‘93 flood water level. We don’t have the kind of mess we did in 1993 due to the improved levees and upgrades Des Moines has done since that time. With that said, we are supposed to get up to 6 more inches of rain in the next day and a half. (thats what the weather is saying right now anyway). If Court Ave flooded that quick with that little bit of rain we had late this morning I can only imagine what that amount will do.

I live outside of Des Moines but work downtown. My town isnt in a serious flood plain but just down the road is Colfax IA where the South Skunk river has gone crazy. Flood waters clear to nearly I-80.

I am looking to hear how Tracy is doing… if anyone has that story or info
